It was a veery special day for everyone involved.  Southern Sophistication did an amazing job with event design and floral and Bleu House Cafe cooked up an amazing meal.  There was dancing and laughter with music provided by DJ David Osborne.  This was a stunning industrial Winter Wonderland wedding.

Couple #1 – Katie and Bruce – The Thompson House and Gardens

We started off an amazing year of weddings with Katie and Bruce’s on March 2 at the Thompson House and Gardens with Southern Sophistication Designs.  You can view their full wedding blog here and see their engagement session here.  Despite the weather that we all expected, Mother Nature threw us a curve ball.  It was to be the first of many curve balls that Mother Nature decided to throw us in 2013.  Despite the sleet of early morning and the barely 40 degree temperatures, we didn’t let that get us down.  It was a stunning wedding and we had a great time!  It was a fabulous start to the year!  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #2 – Rebekah and Chris – The Thompson House and Gardens

Bekah and Chris are definitely a couple that worked their way into all of our hearts!!  They also chose the Thompson House and Gardens to host their big day and Southern Sophistication Designs supplied the wedding planning.  It became pretty clear early on in their wedding week that we would be dealing with Mother Nature’s second curve ball of our very young wedding season.  Jessie of Southern Sophistication and I got together with Bekah and started to her excited for a wet and rainy wedding day.  The bridal party ran around collecting Wellies (Wellington Boots or rain boots for those of you that aren’t married to a Brit).  Jessie got busy making labels, and I sent my studio manager out for as many umbrellas as she could locate.  We had such a blast coming up with great ideas for these images and I have to say a big “THANK YOU” to my husband for letting my get his car soaked and my bride for letting me get her soaked. . .It was worth it though 😉  You can view their full wedding blog here and their engagement session at Watson’s Mill Bridge State Park here.    Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #3 – Kelli and Blake – Antique Acres

Kelli and Blake’s March 30th wedding marked the second year of my first wedding working with Jessie of Southern Sophistication Designs.  Both weddings were on Easter weekend as well!!!  It was also our first wedding at a new venue in town called Antique Acres.  It was actually our first nice weather day of the season (albeit not our last).  Southern Sophistication did an amazing job with the floral and event design.   Kelli was a stunning bride and we had a great time at this down home, country, barn wedding.  You can view the full wedding blog here and their engagement session can be seen here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #4 – Lauren and Ross – Dillard, GA

Well, what can I say about Lauren and Ross’s April 13th wedding in Dillard, GA?  Definitely not enough.  This was one of the most fun and relaxed weddings  that I have had the privilege to be a part of.  We had a great wedding weekend in the mountains and I am so in love with everything about this wedding.  Southern Sophistication Designs did an amazing job with everything from wedding planning, floral, and event design down to the actual coordination of the wedding.  This is definitely a Pinterest wedding if ever I have had the pleasure to photograph one!!  You can view their full wedding blog here and see their engagement session hereFollow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #5 – Megan and Lee – Fair Weather Farms

Or Megan and Ross.  Evidently I called Lee “Ross” pretty much the entire wedding day on April 20th at Fair Weather Farms.  I eventually gave up trying to call him Lee.  Evidently my brain was still stuck in Dillard!!  It did become a big joke with us though 🙂  We did photograph their engagement sessions in the same week and their weddings just one week apart though so it did become a challenge to keep them separate in my brain!  But I do love Megan and Lee and their little dog that was a part of their engagement session.  You can view their full wedding blog here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.  Floral, event design and planning by Southern Sophistication Designs

Couple #6 – Brooke and Aaron – The Barn on Belmont

We were super excited to photograph the inaugural event for the Barn on Belmont on May 18th.  Bombshell Creations rocked out Brooke’s bridal makeup and Southern Sophistication Designs once again did a great job with event design and floral.  I loved everything about this wedding.  I loved the horses, I loved the old truck and the shotguns, I loved the wild flowers, and I REALLY loved the barn.  I am very excited that we have be lucky enough to continue photographing weddings at the barn.  It is truly a stunning southern venue.   You can view the full wedding blog here and their engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #7 – Erin and Brad – The Thompson House and Gardens

June 1st found us back at the Thompson House and Gardens for the nuptials of Erin and Brad.  They had such a beautiful and classic theme with lots of white and greens.  It was a great start to our summer wedding season!  You can view the full wedding blog here and their engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #8 – Julia and Eric – The Thompson House and Gardens

And we were back at the Thompson House and Gardens the next Saturday to celebrate Julia and Eric’s big day.  This was definitely one of the sweetest couples I have had the opportunity to work with and I just fell in love with their families!!  Can you believe we have been dodging rain bullets up until now?  Just wait. . .the rain is coming. . . Couple #9 – Anna and Femi – The Thompson House and Gardens

We had a few weeks off before we came back the Thompson House and Gardens for the reception of Anna and Femi.  It was definitely a colorful day with many of Femi’s Nigerian family in attendance.  We got to eat fish heads, goat curry, and all kinds of other exotic dishes from his native land.  Yellows and teals and bright reds were everywhere.  We had a money dance and many toasts and lots of lots of dancing!  I loved everything about their big day!!  You can view the full wedding blog here and their winter engagement session at the State Botanical Gardens here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #10 – Hayley and Jake – Lyndon House Arts Center

July came in hard and fast and Hayley and Jake’s July 20th wedding found us back in the rain again.  Fortunately, it only rained during the ceremony which was quickly flipped to the inside of the art gallery thanks to Southern Sophistication’s quick planning.  I loved the elegant and simple southern charm of this art gallery wedding.  We had a great time taking bridal portraits in the historic home and after the end of the ceremony (when the rain miraculously stopped), we hopped in the Thunderbird and took a little trip around downtown Athens for some stunning bride and groom portraits.  It was a great day in spite of the rain and definitely one of my very favorite 2013 weddings!  You can view the full wedding blog here and their Savannah engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #11 – Erica and Bill – The Day Chapel at the State Botanical Gardens

Erica and Bill’s classic southern wedding covered every possible definition of the word stunning.  We had incredible floral, a beautiful cake covered in peaches, and a super fun bride and groom.  We travelled around Athens to make sure that we got very important locations for the two of them.  Their first date took place at Herty Field so we used that as the backdrop for their first look.  And then we headed on over to the gardens for bridal party portraits.  Despite the heat and humidity, it was a great day for a southern wedding!  You can view the full wedding blog here and their fall engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #12 – Cara and Clay – The Carlyle House

Cara and Clay said I do under a stunning vista.  And then they headed over to the Carlyle House for an evening of fun in Tiffany Blue!!  Southern Sophistication Designs did a great job with the floral for this one! Couple #13 – Caroline and Alex – The Thompson House and Gardens

Caroline and Alex are another one of those couples that truly captured my heart.  It is easy to see just how much they love and care about each other.  I tend to be pretty sappy at father/daughter dances but as Caroline read her vows that she had written for Alex and began to cry, I just couldn’t hold in the tears.  It was definitely one of the sweetest moments of this year!  Thanks for making me cry Caroline!  Jessie will never let me live that one down!  I could photograph this couple all.  day. long.  We had so much fun at their engagement session at the State Botanical Gardens that I knew I would have to be careful at their wedding in order to not take tens of thousands of images!  And I was right, I could have just kept on clicking away.  Between the props that we brought (the canopy and couch) and the fabulous white muscle car that showed up for the big day, we had so many options to choose from!!  You can view their full wedding here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #14 – Mallory and Brent – The Thompson House and Gardens

Mother Nature threw us a whole bucket load of curve balls for Mallory and Brent’s September 21st wedding  at The Thompson House and Gardens.  The only way I can describe it is a monsoon!! So.  Much.  Rain.  But I find it only fitting that they would get married in the rain considering the Brent proposed to Mallory in a hurricane.  And I can say that everyone made the best of the situation.  We broke out the umbrellas, Mallory hiked up her gorgeous gown and out we went for images that will remain some of my favorites for a very long time.  You can view their full rainy wedding day blog here and their beach engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #15 –  Victoria and Charlie – Fair Weather Farms

Victoria and Charlie’s big day was an absolutely amazing fall day in September at Fair Weather Farms.  We truly did have Fair Weather!  Considering the rain that we had been dealing with for so long, it was so nice to have a cool day that was beautifully sunny.  And oh what a sunset we did get!  We had so much fun with every detail of this wedding that was painstakingly planned by Southern Sophistication Designs.  You can view the full wedding here and their engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #16 – Shannon and Chris – The Thompson House and Gardens

Well, we just barely missed another whole bucket load of curve balls from Mother Nature for Shannon and Chris’s October 6th wedding at the Thompson House and Gardens.  I had so many fun setups and props planned that I almost cried when I saw that we had a tropical storm bearing down on us from the gulf.  Fortunately, the rain did come in until that night and we were able to use all of the setups I had planned!  The day was even quite warm. It was 84 if I remember correctly.  Shannon was such a stunning bride and Chris was the picture of the perfect gentlemen.  I love their sweet energy and quiet love for each other.  Southern Sophistication Designs pulled off another fantastic event. Couple #17 – Hannah and Donavan – The Brickyard

We had so much fun photographing our first wedding at the Brickyard in Colbert, Ga.  The attention to detail from owner, Ellen, was amazing.  I love the vintage look and feel of this venue and it has everything an industrial bride could ask for.  Hannah and Donavan looked absolutely stunning on the day and you could tell that they are so in love.  I can’t wait to be back at this venue again!  View the full wedding blog here and their engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #18 – Leigh Ann and Chris – The Thompson House and Gardens

Leigh Ann waited many years for this very special day.  As she and Chris walked back up the aisle she kept exclaiming, “We’re really married!  I can’t believe it!  We did it!”  She made me giggle 🙂  I thoroughly enjoyed this entire family.  Especially sweet little flower girl, Kenzi.  It was so much fun to photograph this little family on this very special day!  View the full wedding blog here and their engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #19 – Susie and Blake – The Higdon House Inn and Gardens

Party People!!  Those are the two words to describe Susie, Blake, and their entire wedding party.  Vegas with this group would be straight out of the Hangover!  We wouldn’t remember it but we would have fun!  We dodged another wedding bullet with this October 19th wedding and it turned into a great day.  I can definitely say that the wedding party and guests didn’t hold back.  Their were sparklers on roofs, spilled beer, and cake smashed in faces.  What a fab day!  You can view their full wedding blog here and their engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #20 – Erika and Tim – Antique Acres

And we returned to Antique Acres for Erika and Tim’s October 25th wedding.  I must say that this was the very first day where we got a preview of what was in store this winter.  It got COLD!  Little did we know just how cold it would get come January!  But everyone toughed it out for a great wedding day and there was so much Latin fun happening in the barn!!  Southern Sophistication Designs pulled off another great vintage, “Pinterest-chic” wedding!  And Tim got his lamb 😉  Vote ya’ll! I know Erica is dying for a canvas of this one 😉  View their full wedding blog here and their engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #21 – Jesse and Benji – The Barn on Belmont

November 2nd brought us back to the lovely Barn on Belmont for Jesse and Benji’s big day.  Jesse planned this one is a super short span of time!!  Once she said yes, she was ready to say I do as soon as possible.  Debbie and Cissy of Hydrangea House Events pulled this one off with finesse and style!  I loved the country western feel with horseshoes and lasso’s; cowboy boots and cowboy hats.  It was truly a touch of Texas in Georgia!!  Jesse chose teal and red as her colors and the flowers and accents turned out perfectly.  I am amazed at what this venue can accomplish in staging!  This is definitely a great venue if you are searching for a great place for a country or outdoorsy wedding!  View the full wedding blog here and their sunrise horse farm engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #22 – Sarah and Terry – The Barn on Belmont

And we defied the weather yet again for Sarah and Terry’s wedding at the Barn on Belmont.  I went out for Cissy and Debbie to grab a few of their detail shots and managed to grab some quick ones of the bride and groom as well.  The fall details for this wedding were absolutely stunning.  Sarah walked down an aisle covered in fall leaves thrown down by her cute as pie flower girl.  The inside of the barn was decorated in reds, burgundies, oranges, and yellows with wheat and calla lilies.  It was a gorgeous day.  View their full wedding blog here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #23 – Ashley and Vince – The Carl House

Ashley and Vince have the honor of being my very first Christmas themed wedding!!  Hosted on December 7th at the Carl House, it was all that you could hope for in a Christmas wedding.  We had poinsettias and hot chocolate with big Christmas trees and Christmas lights all over the property!  It was a great evening.  And even though it was supposed to rain on us, it held off once again!  They danced the night away to the music of Dynamite Entertainment’s Randy Burton and had a beautiful cake make by Sugar Kneads Cakery.  View their full wedding blog here and their engagement session here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.

Couple #24 – Erin and Ricky – The Engine Room

You know the saying, “Last but not least”?  I can definitely say that this applies to Erin and Ricky’s December 22nd wedding at the Engine Room.  Or maybe I should say that I saved the best for last.  I knew during their engagement session in March that Erin and Ricky not only had a very special kind of love but also a very special type of presence in front of the camera.  They just looked like they belonged there.  I cannot even begin to say enough about this couple and their big day.   It was relaxed, fun, and every single star aligned for amazing things to happen.  Sometimes, life just works that way.  We definitely closed out the year with a bang with this one.  Southern Sophistication Designs did a stellar job with floral, event design, and planning.  Erin looked amazing in her bright red lipstick (courtesy of Bombshell Creations) and her custom designed vintage gown.  And Ricky was quite the charmer.  They are their guests danced all night to the tunes of Dynamite Entertainment’s Randy Burton.  I have never seen so much dancing.  And even though it rained the entire day (yup, I swear it never stopped) and it was cold, it was warm and dry inside and it could not have been a more amazing day.  View their full wedding blog here and their engagement wedding blog here.  Follow this wedding on Pinterest here.
