Nestled in the small Georgia town of Hogansville, Victoria Belle is a boutique wedding venue capturing the essence of timeless elegance with a soft touch of rustic grace. The lush 3 acre estate’s hallmark is a circa 1897 Mansion and Vintage White Barn. Both the Mansion and Barn are in complete harmony with the picturesque grounds detailed by a waterfall, fountains, vineyard, gardens, and gazebo.  With this wedding inspiration, venue owner, Vickie, wanted to embody both the spirit of the antebellum home and rustic grace of the white barn.  A soft palette of grey, blush and gold was chosen that is perfect for a wedding in any season of the year.  The wedding inspiration embodies the vision of the bride that wants to incorporate the rustic feel of the south with the beauty of it’s antebellum mansions.  The blush calligraphy for the invitation suite and the signage keep the feel fresh and trendy.  The gown from Kate McDonald Bridal is simple yet elegant and feminine with it’s lace bodice detail.

If southern plantation weddings make you swoon as much as us, be sure to head over and peruse some of our other stunning shoots at plantations across the area.  The white and green palette from our Magnolia themed shoot at Fair Havens Plantation is do die for.  At Cloverleaf Farm, A Divine Event created out of this world floral inspiration in a Pantone Serenity and Rose Quartz palette that will be an inspiration for any bride-to-be.

It’s no secret that Kimberley and Chris’s English Country Garden Wedding is one of my very favorites.  It brings me great pleasure to be able to say that Inside Weddings Magazine has published this stunner.  I can certainly say that not only was this wedding beautiful and packed full of DIY details made lovingly by the bride herself, it was also one of the most fun weddings that I have had the pleasure of attending.  Kimberley and Chris are now expecting their first child and I have to say a huge congratulations to them and their little family!

From Inside Weddings:

May 30th, 2010 might have seemed like any ordinary day in Lincolnshire – Kimberley Payne couldn’t have possibly known the significance of that spring day at Cadwell Park racetrack. “We met exactly five years previous to the wedding date. His first words to me were, ‘would you like to come see my caravan?’ – [the place that] he and his friends used to sleep on track weekends – so it’s safe to say I wasn’t exactly impressed,” Kimberley laughs. After requesting her phone number from a friend of hers, Chris Newbigging asked Kimberley out on a date, to which she agreed. The pair spent time in a local pub for drinks and then decided to head to the cinema, “where he caught me off guard with our first kiss while watching a zombie thriller!” she muses. “From then onwards, we have pretty much been inseparable.”

Following a proposal on the groom-to-be’s birthday, the couple entered into their 18-month engagement with enthusiasm and plenty of décor ideas. Kimberley was determined to do the majority of the design herself. “The planning of the wedding was mainly carried out by myself and Chris,” she explains. “I wanted to make almost everything myself – I found Pinterest a godsend!” While noting that conceptualizing a DIY wedding certainly takes up a lot of time, the bride assures that “it was all worth it!” Once they’d decided upon an English garden motif, they went to work putting in the hours it took to create their dream nuptials.

In the early afternoon, five years to the day that they met, Kimberley readied herself to walk down the aisle and greet her sweetheart. In keeping with the garden concept, bridesmaids wore delicate blush dresses and carried nosegays of wildflowers while also sporting similar blooms woven throughout their hairstyles – a headpiece accessory that the flower girl and the bride herself also displayed. The women glided into the church, making way for Kimberley and her father. The woman of the hour was dressed in a lovely trumpet-style lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and carried a larger version of her bridesmaids’ wildflower bouquets. “The vows were a highlight for us, as well as having all our friends cheer us on our first kiss as man and wife – despite the vicar not seeming to think it was essential,” she tells.

After the “I dos,” friends and family waited outside the church to shower the newlyweds with confetti before jetting off to the reception venue. Upon their arrival at the local pub, attendees found the charming details Kimberley had labored over. They found their seats using a beautiful, simple structure the bride had created in the shape of a heart, presenting everyone’s table assignments. “As everything was homemade, I wanted it to reflect our personality and taste in our wedding day,” Kimberley says. “The centerpieces were [made up of] a slice of walnut tree with vintage jugs full of wildflowers they were heavily complimented.” Watering cans filled with pastel-hued perennials accented the clean, white space, continuing the English garden design of the day. Guests could leave their well-wishes in a handmade card box covered in the lace of the mother of the bride’s own wedding dress and surrounded by charming garden details and photographs of the bride and groom as children.

After dining and subsequently cutting into their three-tiered white wedding cake bedecked with sugar wildflowers, the music picked up and the party got going. “We had a good friend of Chris’ sing at our reception with his band,” Kimberley reveals. “We had him sing ‘More Than Words’ by Extreme [for our first dance] – It’s a song which we both love. It’s unusual [and] not many people may have heard of it, but we like the sentiment that love is more than words said.” If revelers hadn’t had their fill of sweet treats, they could indulge in the DIY candy dessert bar, which served as the couple’s favors. As for advice for future brides, Kimberley’s is simple: “Write lists!”

Click on over to Inside Weddings’ website to see the full feature.  Or you can see more images here on our blog.  To see all of the weddings, head over to their full wedding gallery.  I promise that you won’t be sorry to look through all of the pictures!  There are heaps of inspiration in this wedding! You also won’t want to miss their Cambridge picnicking and punting engagement session!  It’s in two parts so make sure to view both!

If you love this color palette, be sure to head over to view our Pantone Serenity and Rose Quartz Luxury wedding shoot at Cloverleaf Farm.  If you are a DIY gal, be sure to look up Heather and Chancey’s wedding at the Barn at price Mountain Farm!!

If you love pastels and shabby chic fabulousness, then this wedding is for you!! Kaitlin’s vision for her wedding day was to keep it simple and not stress.   She got her wish!  This was without a doubt a stress-free and fun day.  She wanted the sun to shine and she got that wish as well.  As the sun started to set, we had the most amazing back lighting for portraits of her and Jason.

Favorite Moments?

Kaitlin says her favorite moment was “during the ‘getting ready’ process.  There was a moment when I was frantically forced back into the dressing room upstairs. Jason was about to leave his room to take pictures and my maid of honor did not want me to be seen. Right when I entered the room, I could hear him talking downstairs. That is when all the nervous excitement finally hit! The sound of his voice calmed me, but made me anxious at the same time! This was definitely my favorite moment of the day. The anticipation was unbearable!”

Jason’s “favorite moment of the wedding was being able to see our family and friends just before Kaitlin came to the altar. Seeing the love and support we had from so many people, and then finally getting to see Kaitlin being escorted down the aisle by her father was hard to explain.”

“Our cakes were DIY. My mother created our wedding cake to emulate a naked ombre cake. The bottom layer was a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, the middle layer was a fresh strawberry cake with strawberry cream cheese frosting, and the top layer was a lemon pound cake with candied lemon peel. She also made individual mini cakes for the guests using these flavors: strawberry with strawberry cream cheese frosting, lemon pound cake with blueberry sauce, and a chocolate cake with German chocolate frosting. We also made our guest favors, cotton candy. There were many different flavors, and we bagged them with a special thank you note. My brother built the two bars for the venue that were used during our reception as well”

Don’t miss out on Lindsey and Daniel’s spring wedding from Grant Hill Farms either!

If you love barn weddings, be sure to head over to some of our other favorites to take a peek.  Lauren and Ross got married in the Spring in the North Georgia mountains and it is still one of my favorites to this day!  If blush and mint are your thing, then you absolutely have to see Heather and Chancey’s wedding from last fall.  It will have you swooning!

The kids are back in school.  Football season has started.  The Major League Baseball playoffs are only a month away.  Every morning, when I wake up to a new day, there is a bit of a nip of fall in the air.  I couldn’t think of a better wedding to share this Labor Day weekend than Catherine and Chris’s baseball themed wedding at the Farm at High Shoals from this past Memorial Day weekend.  I have to admit, I was a bit nervous when Catherine told me about her theme.  There were so many ways that I felt it could go wrong.  I shouldn’t have worried.  She pulled it off perfectly.  From the red laced Keds all the way to the baseball and Cracker Jack favors, this wedding was beautiful and so well put together.  So on this Labor Day weekend, sit back, relax and enjoy an All-American Southern Wedding!

If you love the Farm at High Shoals, be sure to check out this stunning fall bohemian wedding inspiration.
Are you planning an All-American day?  Samantha and Chris’s wedding will also be perfect inspiration for you and your big day! And we also have this gorgeous inspiration from Charleston that should float your boat!

Oh and this sign just gets me every time I see it!!   I can just hear Tom Hanks screaming, “There’s no crying in baseball!”  A League of Their Own is one of my all-time favorite movies.  And the home plate for the altar?  Just perfection!

At first glance, I was thoroughly confused by the table numbers.  They didn’t go in order.  And some were really high like 80!  There weren’t 80 tables in this barn.  Finally it occurred to me that they were the players jersey numbers!  How fantastic is that?!?!?!?!  No, ya’ll, I don’t really like baseball.  I am a football girl myself.

With all that has happened this week in Orlando, I am very proud and humbled to bring you our first LGBT wedding inspiration.  It really wasn’t planned this way.  This shoot just came out in the Summer issue of Gay Weddings Magazine.  So I was waiting to post until it was published there.  But I do find it very fitting for this time.  So I thought it would be an appropriate post.  The Orlando shootings almost hit too close to home for me and my photography team.  The shooter could have chosen another Florida town that he actually lived closer to, and it could have been a devastating blow for us.  Our company has always been LGBT friendly but it is not something that I have ever officially announced.  I do so now and welcome all LGBT couples to contact us about their wedding day.  Love wins!
